With upcoming changes going live on beta servers and then live servers, we’ve made a couple of changes in Primetric. This article will help walk you through all of those improvements.
Table of contents
Logging time as a Manager
Previously, when you wanted to log your time as a Manager, you had to switch to an Employee view. With this release, we’ve added a new view to a Manager profile called “My Timesheet”. With this feature, you can log your hours without swapping views.
Work categories
For this release, we have also created work categories that allow your employees to add a category to their logged time. To enable this feature, you will need to go to the Administration view, click on Settings, and choose the option, General. Then, check the box for “Work categories”.
Now, whenever you go to a project, a new tab called “Work categories” will appear. You are also able to add categories by clicking “Add work category”. There you have to name it and provide a description.
When your employee logs time in that project, he will have an option to choose from the work categories you’ve added.
New view - Settlements
Settlements is an entirely new view for managers. In this section, you can check all settled and not settled costs and incomes for all projects.
You can also apply up to four filters to see how a particular part of your income and costs affects monthly finances. These filters are:
- Incomes,
- Milestones,
- Organization overheads,
- Project overheads.
The settlement view is organized to allow you to quickly catch up on your monthly budget. You can see how many costs and incomes were already submitted, and which are still waiting for approval. Below that panel, you will find a breakdown of finances in a table. Each project is linked there for quick access.
Within this view, you can withdraw, submit or commit settlements. Finances that are already settled have a distinct white lock icon on a green background.
Settlements will differ for managers without organization access. Organisation overheads will not be visible to them.
Changes in financial milestones
The income and milestones section of the project budget is now more clearly organized. Now you do not need to expand the list of incomes, it will be ready for you to see. Icons with a green background will inform you whether your milestone or income was committed. The whole interface has been simplified, allowing easier project budget management.
New settings and view for a financial manager
With this release, we’ve changed settings for financial managers. Now in the Administrator settings, you can check the box for “Finance manager always can settle milestones”.
There will also be a new interface for finance managers in Project view. Now, when viewing a specific project, they will see a yellow “Cost restricted” button on the project bar. Hovering the mouse over this button prompts a pop-up. It informs them about employees that are cost restricted.
Assignment replacement
We’ve also added a new function to assignments in the calendar. When you right-click on the assignment, you’ll notice a new button - “Find replacement”. Clicking on it will display a pop-up with a list of people that have the same seniority and role. It works the same as assigning new people to a project. This option will be available in every type of calendar. With it, you will be able to quickly find a replacement for your employee.
This functionality also works with vacancies. The system can look for people matching your vacancy settings. This will allow you to quickly fill in empty slots in your project.
Scheduled utilization in People calendar
All information that previously was below the scheduled utilization bar in the People calendar has been moved. Now they all are in the pop-up below this icon. Hovering the mouse over will show you detailed information on how specific’s employee utilization was calculated.
Only settled data view in Profitability report
We’ve added a new checkbox for the Profitability report. Now, you will be able to include only settled data in it.
Operation costs
In the Report section of Project view, we’ve added a new checkbox. Now, while you include organization overhead in your report, you also will be able to add operation costs.
