There are many cases in which we want to sell our services at a discount. Be it a promotion or securing a deal with a long-time, loyal customer. With Fixed Price projects it's very easy, as we can simply change the Income amount, but with Time & Materials we need to take a few additional steps.
This is a hypothetical example!
John's company has acquired a project deal with Company B. The project will last 3 months. With this project, Company B was promised 20% discount.
- Let's create Time & Materials project lasting 3 months.
- Let's add an employee, who will have one assignment, 100% capacity, and 200 euro hour rate.
- Our employee has logged time.
- To apply the discount, we need to go to the Budget, Dashboard tab. Our change will depend on the type of discount we agreed with our customer. If it's hours, we need to deduct hours from work for income (1), if it's hour rate - we need to deduct there (2).
