Lesson 1 - Introduction to the Timesheet Tab in the Employee Role

Table of contents

General overview

In this lesson we focus on the Timesheet tab, so you can quickly understand the basics of different views. The Timesheet tab allows you to:

  • track time, and manage your work logs,
  • manage and export your timesheets,
  • switch between daily, weekly, and monthly work,
  • compare schedulings to actuals and your capacity,
  • find assignments that you are looking for,
  • spot days where you didn't track any time.

Daily view

The daily view shows your:

  • daily capacity (empty bar) in comparison to the tracked time (fulfilled bar)

  • today's work with the information about: assignments, projects' names, and projects' phases

  • comparison between tracked, and scheduled hours

  • Colours of the bars (applies to all types of views)
    • Green - time tracked
    • Grey - time remaining (based on utilization) to be tracked
    • Yellow - time tracked as overtime

Example: I have 35 hours a week scheduled in John's assignment. This means that John will work 7 hours a day on average. If John logs 5 hours in one day, the gray color will show that he still has hours available. If John logs exactly 7 in one day, there will be no additional color - the bar will be completely filled with green. However, if John logs 8 hours in one day, a yellow section will appear next to the green bar.

  • comparison between daily or weekly tracked time and capacity (tracked time on the left / capacity on the right). On Wed 03 you tracked 4h 51m, and your capacity was 8h.

mceclip9.png

  • comparison between tracked time (green color) / scheduled time (grey color). If you will notice yellow color it means that you tracked more time than your manager scheduled for you. On Wed 03 you tracked 4h51m and your manager scheduled for you 4h. This is why there is a yellow color.
